The name of this neighborhood, known as Eskicami-Ortacami Mahallesi, has been transformed as Ortacami Mahallesi with the decision of the council numbered 73 in 04.02.2020. In addition, the northern part of the Magnificent Sultan Süleyman Boulevard (ring road) was included in the newly established Istiklal district. Tekirdağ State Hospital is within the borders of the neighborhood. Also, the historical Governor's Office, which is under restoration, is located here. The population of 2019 is 14,429.
